The city is a significant railway junction and is well-connected to major cities across India by train. Rourkela Junction is the main railway station in the city. National Highway 143 and State Highway 10 pass through the city, providing connectivity to cities like Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Raipur. State-run buses, private buses, and taxis are available for travel to and from the city. State-run and private buses operate between Rourkela and nearby cities and towns. You can find regular bus services from places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and other neighboring towns. Deluxe, semi-deluxe, and Volvo buses are available for a comfortable journey.
