Laitmawsiang in Meghalaya is one of India’s best secrets. The place is home to cotton candy clouds with sweeping views of timbered valleys, glassy lakes, sparkling waterfalls and ancient caves. Litmawsiang is dotted with British colonial architecture galore, which is an ideal hideaway to unwind amidst nature. It is located in the Khatarshnong Laitkroh neighbourhood of East Khasi Hills. It is a 2.5-hectare area with seven primary spots-Sum Syeim Falls, U Mawhdohnud (heart shape rock), Ka Synrang ryiem, Ki Stieh Maw, Arsdad and Riat Umlwai waterfalls. The Garden of Caves offers a resting place for caves and cascades, created mainly through seasonal rainfalls.

The garden of caves in this area has existed for more than 5000 years. In the past, these caves were used as a hiding place by the Khasi tribes and local patriots from the Britisher. After that, the place was inaccessible and surrounded by dense forests. Now this place is added with the beauty of a bamboo trail that sets for a great entry to the garden caves. It leads you to the perennial underground water, great for drinking. It also has healing and medicinal properties. The place is beautifully illuminated by sun rays along with the reflection of sparkling ponds. While the stupendous waterfalls create a great view to savour.
