How to Reach South Padre Island

The island is located at the southern end of Texas, and the primary route is traveling on Highway 100, which connects to the Queen Isabella Causeway leading onto the island. If you’re coming from the north or west, you may use highways such as I-69E or I-2 to reach Harlingen or Brownsville, and then proceed to Highway 100.
The closest major airport to the Island is Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport, which is about 30 miles away. Other nearby airports include Valley International Airport in Harlingen and McAllen International Airport in McAllen.
