The cricket ground and a polo ground which is there at an altitude of 2,444 m is a well-known attraction and the world’s highest cricket ground.

Chail India is also frequented by hikers as it offers wonderful views of the lower Himalayas. It has good trekking points from Junga, Kufri, and Ashwani Khad at Solan. Monsoon (July to September)- Chail receives moderate to heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. The weather remains cool and refreshing, but landslides and roadblocks are possible due to the rainfall. Autumn (October to November)- Autumn is a lovely time to visit Chail as the weather is still pleasant with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C. The skies are clear, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Winter (December to February)- Chail experiences cold winters, and the temperature can drop to sub-zero levels. The winter months are from December to February, with temperatures ranging from -1°C to 10°C. Snowfall is possible during this time, adding to the charm of the hill station.

The best time to travel to Chail from Delhi is during the summer and autumn months (April to November) when the weather is pleasant and the roads are more accessible. Chail’s tranquil ambiance and scenic beauty make it an ideal destination for a relaxing getaway in the lap of the Himalayas.

The history of Chail Palace dates back to 1891 when Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was banished from Shimla, the summer capital of British India, for an affair with the Viceroy’s daughter. As a result, he decided to build his own summer retreat in Chail, which is a beautiful hill station surrounded by pine and deodar forests.

Chandigarh, the nearest major city, is around 120 kilometers away. Regular bus services operate from Shimla and Chandigarh to Chail.

The nearest airport to Chail India is the Jubbarhatti Airport in Shimla, which is about 63 kilometers away. However, the airport has limited connectivity, and flights may not be available from all cities. Alternatively, you can fly to Chandigarh Airport, which is about 115 kilometers away, and then proceed to Chail by road.

Chail does not have a railway station of its own. The nearest major railway station is Kalka Railway Station, which is well-connected to major cities like Delhi and Chandigarh. From Kalka, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Chail.

Shimla to Chail

The distance between Shimla and Chail is approximately 45 kilometers. Hiring a private car or taxi is one of the most convenient ways to travel from Shimla to Chail. Regular bus services operate from Chandigarh to Chail. Buses are available from the Chandigarh ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) or local bus stands.

Delhi to Chail

The distance between Delhi and Chail India is approximately 335 kilometers. Hiring a private car or taxi is one of the most convenient ways to travel from Delhi to Chail. The journey takes around 7 to 8 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic. The route from Delhi to Chail offers scenic views of the countryside and the Himalayas.

Regular bus services operate from Delhi to Chail Shimla. Buses are available from various inter-state bus terminals and private bus operators. The journey by bus takes around 8 to 10 hours, depending on the type of bus and stops along the way.
