Jasper is the wildest of the mountain parks and contains the ultimate trail system with the world-famous Columbia Icefields, one of the only Icefields in the world accessible by road. How to Get to National Park?

One way to get to Jasper National Park is by air. The closest airport is in Calgary, Alberta. There are also several other airports that can be used if flying into Jasper National Park from elsewhere in Canada. Driving to the park is another option and there are several ways to get there including from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. The most direct route from Edmonton is through the Icefields Parkway which runs for about 1000 kilometers. From Calgary, take the Trans-Canada Highway west to Banff National Park and then continue on until you reach Jasper National Park. National Park is a must-see for anyone visiting the Canadian Rockies. The scenery is amazing and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. The town of Jasper is situated at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 93 N. It is straight west 362 kilometers miles on Highway.

The best times to visit Jasper National Park are March to May and September to November. Average temperatures in the National Park vary drastically. If you’re looking for the very warmest time to visit Jasper Park South Entrance, the hottest months are July, June, and then September.
