Reinebringen is a 5.6-kilometer heavily trafficked out-and-back trail located near Moskenes, Nordland, Norway that offers scenic views. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and bird watching. Reinebringen ridge is part of the Lofoten Islands, which is located in the Northern part of Norway and boasts an imposing landscape. Deep puddles and the U-shaped valley fjord coastlines have created beautiful cliffs and waterfalls that take your breath away. See the Reinebringen map.

It is the starting point for boat trips into the stunning Reinefjord, where visitors hike over the mountain to the giant Bunesstranden which is the local highest point.

Hiking Reinebringen Norway

Reinebringen is the most popular and iconic hike in the Lofoten islands with its stunning views of the villages of Reine, Hamnoy, and Sakrisoy. At a modest 448 meters high, Reinebringen is one of the highest peaks on the Lofoten islands. Reinebringen hike Lofoten is a must-do hike in Norway. The previous trek path was very steep, muddy, and dangerous but in the year 2019, the new stairs path is completed which is built by the Nepali Sherpas. This is the reason it is known as Sherpa Stair. The starting point of the hike is after the Ramsvik Tunnel coming from Reine on E10 along the old road. Since the stairs are completed Reinebringen Norway trail has become more popular among visitors.

Reinebringen Lofoten

​Summer is the best time to do the Reinebringen hike. It is a very pleasant trek and there are almost 1560 steps and you have to follow these steps all the way. Only the last 50 m below the summit are no stairs so follow the old trail. Reinebringen camping is very popular on the island. There are tent facilities at the top with stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains. All of these places are on the exposed ridge.  There is no water at the top, so people can bring water for cooking and drinking. Reinebringen Norway hike in the winter season is strictly prohibited.

How to get to Reinebringen Norway

The Evenes Airport at the eastern end of the Lofoten Islands or at the Svolaer airport is the nearest airport from the Reinebringen noway. At the stopover airport as you will be astounded by the beautiful scenery.
