The Walt Disney World Resort or Disney World is an entertainment resort complex in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista in Florida, United States. Walt Disney World is located near the cities of Orlando and Kissimmee and opened on October 1, 1971. The resort is operated by Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, a division of The Walt Disney Company. The property covers nearly 25,000 acres, of which half has been used.

Walt Disney World in Orlando has four theme parks -Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, two water parks-Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney Springs, a restaurant and shop-filled area. Who is Walt Disney

Walter Elias Disney was an American animator, film producer, and entrepreneur. A pioneer of the American animation industry Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901, and died on December 15, 1966. He was the founder of Walt Disney and introduced several developments in the production of cartoons. As a film producer, he holds the record for most Academy Awards earned and nominations by an individual, having won 22 Oscars from 59 nominations. Disney was the first person to be nominated for Academy Awards in six different categories.

Walt Disney World Florida

In 1959, Walt Disney Productions began looking for land to house a second resort to supplement Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which had opened in 1955. The Magic Kingdom was the first theme park to open in the complex, in 1971, followed by Epcot (1982), Disney’s Hollywood Studios (1989), and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (1998). It was The elder brother of Walter Disney who insisted the name of the entire complex be changed from Disney World to Walt Disney World so that people would remember that the project was Walt’s dream. In 2018, Walt Disney World was the most visited vacation resort in the world, with average annual travelers of more than 58 million. The resort is the flagship destination of Disney’s worldwide corporate enterprise and has become a popular staple in American culture. In 2020, Walt Disney World was chosen to host the NBA Bubble for play of the 2019–20 season of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to resume at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Some other Attractions 

Disney’s Boardwalk, located outside of their Boardwalk Inn, functions as an entertainment, dining, and shopping district. Epcot has annual festivals that run for limited amounts of time throughout the year like the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, Epcot Festival of the Arts, and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Disney does special ticketed events throughout the year including Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It runs from late August through October and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Disney Springs opened on March 22, 1975.

Epcot world showcase

This is the place where you can visit 11 different countries in less than a day and you can do it all on foot. Epcot World Showcase at Walt Disney World is just 1.2 miles around, it will take you just 20 minutes to walk around World Showcase Promenade. Avatar Flight of Passage

Board your own mountain banshee and embark on a thrilling expedition, where explorers get to close and look at this moon’s incredible landscape. Bonding with a banshee is a crucial step in the life of a Na’vi hunter on Pandora and flying on the back of one of these powerful creatures is an important rite of passage. Avatar Flight of Passage is one of two rides in Pandora -The World of Avatar. The land opened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017.

Valley of Mo’ara

Hike amid floating mountains and glowing fauna and flora is an amazing experience. A native drum circle and many other wonders at Pandora-The World of Avatar are worth seeing. Exotic plants come to life with beautiful bioluminescence each night. Na’vi totems and other cultural items are found throughout the land.

Things to do at Walt Disney World 

Take advantage of early Extra Magic Hours

Those who stayed inside the Walt Disney had access to Extra Magic Hours at select parks on certain days. Although these hours can be in the morning or evening, it’s best to go in the morning. Guests have the flexibility of moving at a slower, more relaxed pace. Before the park opens to the general public, you’ll have already experienced Space Mountain or Rockin’ Roller Coaster and can enjoy a leisurely breakfast while the masses charge at the rope drop.

Stay on-site at a Disney hotel

Staying on-site can be a timer saver. One can use Disney’s transportation to get from park to park, and purchases made in the parks can also be delivered to your room Disney’s Magical Express will transport you from Orlando International Airport to your hotel.

Eat at unusual times
