Har Ki Dun is a beautiful valley nestled in the Garhwal region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Har Ki Dun trek is a popular trekking destination that takes you through picturesque landscapes, ancient villages, and lush green meadows. The trek starts from Sankri, a small village, and takes you to Har Ki Dun Valley. The trek offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and lush meadows. The trek typically takes around 7-8 days to complete, covering a distance of approximately 47 kilometers. The trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers.

The trek starts from Sankri and passes through Taluka, Osla, and Seema before reaching Har Ki Dun.

The trail takes you along the Supin River, through dense forests and alpine meadows.

The best time to undertake the Har Ki Dun is from May to June and September to November. During these periods, the weather is generally pleasant, and the meadows are in full bloom.

Taluka

Seema

How To Reach Har Ki Dun Trek

Reaching the Har Ki Dun involves getting to the base village of Sankri, from where the trek usually starts. The Nearest Airport is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. After reaching Dehradun, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Sankri, which is approximately 200 kilometers away.

Nearest Railway Station is Dehradun Railway Station. Dehradun is well-connected by train to major cities in India. From Dehradun, you can proceed by road to Sankri. Sankri is the base village for the Har Ki Dun. You can take a bus or hire a taxi from Dehradun to Sankri. The drive from Dehradun to Sankri takes approximately 7-8 hours, depending on road conditions.
