Shivneri Fort-The Marvel of Indian History where Shivaji was born

Lenyadri

Lenyadri, also known as Ganesh Lenyadri or Girijatmaj Lenyadri, is a hill in Maharashtra, located about 5 kilometers north of the town of Junnar. It is one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples, which are dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple at Lenyadri is located inside a series of Buddhist caves, which were excavated in the 1st century CE.

The temple itself is relatively small, with a single room housing the idol of Lord Ganesha. The idol is believed to be swayambhu, or self-manifested, and is a natural rock formation that resembles the elephant-headed deity.

Visitors to Lenyadri can climb a flight of 283 steps to reach the temple. The climb is steep but offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The temple is especially popular during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, when thousands of devotees flock to the site to pay their respects to Lord Ganesha.

One of the popular trekking routes to Bhimashankar is from Khandas village, which is about 18 kilometers away. The trek takes about 6-7 hours and offers stunning views of the Sahyadri mountain range.
