Sasaram is a famous historical town Rohtas district of Bihar. Apart from being a historical city Sasaram and the Kaimur mountain range a nature’s blessed landscapes and prime tourist destinations for nature lovers, enriched by numerous spectacular waterfalls, lakes, rivers and picturesque locations. Ain-I-Akbari mentions that over 200 waterfalls emerge during the rainy season with gorgeous appearances.

Rohtasgarh Waterfall, Kaimur Waterfall, Dhuan Kund Waterfall, Panari Ghat Waterfalls and Tutla Bhavani Waterfalls are among the most famous. Telhar Kund, Karkat Garh and Mundeshwari Waterfall are also well known in the nearby city in the Kaimur Mountain range.

Kaimur Waterfall

Kaimur Waterfall is a popular tourist destination located in the Kaimur district. The height of the waterfall is around 10 meter, and the water cascades down over several rocky steps. DhuanKund waterfall is situated around 3 Km from Sasaram town. The water falling from almost 91 meters creates an alluring picturesque. It is also the source of the Thori River that enters the Bhojpur District and then finally falls into Buxar District. The reason behind the name of the waterfall is the dense fog that covers the area almost all the time of the year. The fog looks like smoke from far and that is why it has been named the Dhua Kund where Dhua means Smoke. The waterfall is also the hot spot for many flora. The Biodiversity around the Dhua Kund is enriched and spectacular. The waterfall remains crowded throughout the year for the intrinsic beauty.

Manjhar Kund 

Manjhar Kund water fall is another waterfall is shorter than Dhua Kund but beautiful enough to attract thousands of tourists from all around the country. The impressive natural landscape and the picturesque feature of the Manjhar Kund is simply amazing. The place is also very popular among the locals and is one of the popular picnic spots in the city dwellers.

Tutla Bhawani Waterfall

Tutula Bhawani is located nearby Tilauthu and approximately 20 Km south west from Dehri-on-Sone. The two large mountains one from north west and another from south east at converge to create a green valley which stretches to 1.6 km. From the middle of the valley a kachuar river flows. All this creates a fascinating scene with a height of 200 m. waterfall.

Mundeshwari Waterfall

Mundeshwari Waterfall is a popular tourist destination located in the Kaimur district of Bihar, India. It is situated in the middle of a dense forest, and the waterfall is about 45 meter high. The waterfall is formed by the Sone River, which flows through the region.

Patna to Sasaram Waterfalls distance

The distance between Patna, the capital city of Bihar, and Sasaram Waterfalls is approximately 151 kilometers by road. The travel time can vary depending on traffic conditions and mode of transportation. By car or taxi, it takes around 3-4 hours to reach Sasaram Waterfalls from Patna. There are also several buses and trains available that connect the two cities, with travel time ranging from 2.5 hours to 4 hours depending on the mode of transport and route taken
