Mono lake tufa state natural reserve

Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve is a protected area located on the northern shores of Mono Lake. The reserve is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation and covers an area of approximately 6,000 acres. How to Reach Mono lake California

Mono Lake is located in the Eastern Sierra region of California. The closest major airport to Mono Lake is the Mammoth Yosemite Airport, located about 48 kilometers south of the lake. This airport offers several daily flights to and from Los Angeles and San Francisco. From the airport, Travellers can rent a car or take a shuttle to Mono Lake. The closest Railhead is Reno, Nevada on the Amtrak station-Mono Lake rail.
