Mexico
Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is the thirteenth-largest country in the world by land area, covering over 1.9 million km in North America. Located at the northernmost point of Latin America, it shares a border with the United States to the north, and Guatemala and Belize to the southeast. Mexico is the tenth-most populous nation globally, with a population exceeding 130 million, and is home to the world’s largest number of native Spanish speakers. Mexico City serves as the capital and largest city.
Mexico Tourism
Mexico boasts miles of sunny coastlines, which, by federal law, are entirely owned by the nation. These shores feature a spectacular variety of tourist destinations. Highlights include the Yucatán Peninsula’s resort cluster (Cancún, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, and the Mayan ruins of Tulum), the multi-story hotels of Acapulco, and the renowned marlin fishing at Cabo San Lucas in Baja California.
Do I need a travel visa for Mexico?
Whether you need a Mexico visa hinges on your nationality. While Indian citizens generally require a visa, a valid visa from the USA, Canada, or the UK often grants an exemption for short tourist stays. Always check the official entry rules based on your passport and trip purpose.

Visa-Exempt Nationalities
Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, most European Union countries, Japan, and others, generally do NOT need a Mexican tourist visa. You will still need a valid passport and must complete a Multiple Migratory Form (FMM), which may be provided by your airline or at the port of entry.

Visa Exemption for Other Valid Documents
Even if your nationality usually requires a visa, you are typically exempt from needing a Mexican visa if you hold one of the following:
A valid, multiple-entry visa from the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, or any of the Schengen Area countries.
A document certifying permanent residence in the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, any of the Schengen Area countries, or the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Peru).
Visa Required Nationalities
If you do not fall into the visa-exempt categories above, you will need a Mexican visitor’s visa before traveling. You must apply for this at a Mexican consulate or embassy in your country of residence.
