Bhandardara Dam (Wilson Dam)
Bhandardara Dam, popularly known as Wilson Dam, is a historic and scenic reservoir located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Built in 1910 across the Pravara River, the dam is among the oldest in India and continues to play a vital role in irrigation and hydroelectric power generation. Wilson Dam was constructed by the British in 1910 and named after Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, the then Governor of Bombay. The Pravara River, on which the dam stands, has deep cultural and historical roots, with references in ancient texts. The surrounding Sahyadri hills, rich in biodiversity and dotted with historical sites, further enhance the charm of the region.

Things to Do in Bhandardara
Bhandardara, often called a hidden gem of Maharashtra, offers a blend of natural wonders, adventure, and history. From cascading waterfalls to serene lakes and ancient temples.
