Nakki lake
Nakki Lake is an important Lake in Mount Abu, an Indian hill station located in the Aravalli range. The Lake is a popular artificial lake, celebrated for its scenic beauty, rocky landscape, and cultural importance. Its name is most commonly linked to the Hindi word nakh (nails), stemming from legends that attribute the lake’s creation to gods or a sage who dug it using their nails. While this is the primary association, “Nakki” also holds secondary meanings, such as an ornamental braid in Tamil or a type of mythical water demon in Finnish folklore.
Geography
