The most beautiful Gili island of Lombok Indonesia
The Gili Islands are an archipelago of three small islands just off the northwest coast of Lombok Indonesia. Gilis is a paradise in a turquoise sea, fringed white sand, and coconut palms. The islands are a famous tourist destination consisting of a collection of huts for tourists, a small pool, and resorts. The Gili Islands formed by three islands namely-Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Gili Islands have fame for having some better sunsets and shallow coral reefs ideal for snorkeling. Geology of the area
Lombok Island is located in the Nusatenggara region, which is one of the most active seismic parts in Indonesia. The island is tectonically located in the west of the Sunda Arc where the Australian Continental Plate subducts beneath the Eurasian Plate. Gili island’s earthquake events around the island were generated by two seismic sources: southern subduction mega-thrust and northern back-arc thrust. The Gilli island around the Lombok comprises Tertiary to Holocene sedimentary rocks and intrusive andesitic igneous rocks. The oldest rock formation is the Pengulung Formation of Late Oligocene-Early Miocene sedimentary rocks, overlain by the Kawangan Formation of Middle Miocene sandstone. Both formations are located in the south where intrusive igneous rocks of the Middle Miocene can also be found. The Ekas Formation of Late Miocene limestone overlaid the Pengulung and Kawangan Formations.

Gili Trawangan is the largest and most developed island of the three Gili Islands. It is also one of the world’s safest places to learn to dive, with plenty of reputable dive schools. Gili Meno is for the adventurous with easy access to the many boats that go scuba diving or you can walk straight off the beach and be snorkeling amongst the sea turtles in the crystal-clear waters. It is the most remote island of the three. Gili Meno Turtle sanctuary is famous for sea turtles and it has the most rural seabed you could see ever.

Gili Trawangan is possibly one of the best beaches in the Gili Islands. Bali is entirely worth visiting. sunset is paradise when the sky caught fire, creating impossible reflections in a completely calm sea. Gili islands Tourism is not completed without watching the sunset. it is the most important thing to do in the Gili Islands. The islands are celebrated for the tropical waters which surround them, so the Gili island’s snorkeling is the best thing to do. In crystal clear water visitors may find many varieties of fish, eels, and majestic sea turtles.
The Gili Meno Lake is situated in the center of Meno Island, it’s a saltwater lake with a beautiful mangrove forest. The place around the lake is famous for its peaceful walks. For the surfers, Gili Air has its own surf break, known as Playgili, but it can be difficult as the waves run over the coral reef and rocks. The preferred method of transportation on the island is by foot and bicycle or the horse-drawn carriage called a Cidomo. Gili Islands Scuba diving and free diving in and around the Gilis are common due to the abundance of marine life and coral formations. The most famous diving spots are Shark point, Manta point, and Simon’s reef.
How to get to the Gili Islands
The primary ways to get from Bali to the Gili Islands are a public ferry and a fast boat. The traditional, Best ferry from Bali to Gili island is popular among tourists. They leave from several departure points in Bali, including Benoa Harbour, Sanur, Padangbai, and Amed. Some go via Nusa Lembongan. The best time to go to Gili Islands would be September to November. visitors may avoid the rainy season from November to April, but it does not really rain that much.
