Maithon Jharkhand weather- The climate in Maithon is generally classified as tropical with hot summers and mild winters. During the summer months from March to June, temperatures in Maithon can reach as high as 40°C with high humidity levels. Monsoon season typically begins in June and lasts until September, with heavy rainfall and occasional thunderstorms. From October to February, the weather in Maithon Jharkhand is cooler with temperatures averaging around 15-20°C.

Maithon Dam

The Maithon Dam has located 48 km from Dhanbad, in the state of Jharkhand. The dam with an underground power station is one of its kind in the whole of South East Asia. It has the capacity to generate around 60,000 KW of electric power. A Reservoir was built behind the Dam spread over 65 square kilometres. This was developed by the Damodar Valley Corporation, way back in the year 1948. The dam is about 4.7 kilometres long and about 50 meters high.
